Questions
Questions
Do I need an idea before I start?+
No. Prep week starts from nothing and you’ll finish it with a story to write.
What kind of book can I write?+
Any novel you like. The daily briefs follow the shape most novels share, so they work for romance, fantasy, thrillers, literary fiction or anything else you want to write.
Why 80,000 words?+
It’s a comfortable length for a first novel in a lot of genres and 500 words a day for 160 days gets you there.
What if I miss a day?+
Pick up where you left off. Your next video will be waiting for you.
I’ve started a book before and never finished it. Is this for me?+
Yes. A lot of people start a book and stall somewhere in the middle, which is why every day comes with a brief telling you what to write next.
Do I have to show my writing to anyone?+
No. Your words stay yours unless you send me your chapters at the end.
What will I have at the end?+
A finished draft, two weeks of editing lessons behind you and my notes on your first three chapters plus your query letter and synopsis or your blurb.
